Today Abby is 18 months old. And she goes down the slide all by herself.

And her baby sister Lilly was 9 weeks on Monday.

I can't even believe how fast the time is passing, with little time to blog, unfortunately. I'll try to do better with that. Tomorrow Lilly has her first doctor appointment in over a month, so I will be sure to post her latest stats and such. My best guess is that she's about 8 pounds now. She's getting to be such a big girl. It's hard to believe that my due date was last Saturday and going by her adjusted age, she is just 5 days old.

When I wasn't looking

While tending to Lilly the other day, I heard some commotion in the kitchen. I assumed Abby was playing in the tupperware cabinet, like she normally does, but instead, she was working on this

I wanted to be upset, but instead, turned my head so she couldn't see me giggle, and ran for the camera.

Stroller-ville

Well, after days and days of research and shopping, we finally picked a double stroller. I know we didn't absolutely need it right away, because I have been "slinging" Lilly around with a new sling, but it was a good time to shop for one with Brian still off work and all.

By the way, the slinging thing is new too. I always just used a Bjorn with Abby, but decided to try a ring sling this time around and so far, I am loving it. I think I want to get a wrap too. I got this brand from SlingsILove.com. It's a mom who started her own online business. I was hesitant to order one without trying it on, and it just so happened that she lived about a mile away from our house (she runs her online biz from home), so she invited me over for a personal consultation. Awesome, huh?

Anyhow, back to the stroller shopping. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy finding somewhere I could go to actually test drive the strollers. It seems as though most retailers are willing to order one, but not many carry them in-stock. Anyways, after a whole lotta internet research and many phone calls, I was referred to a store in San Clemente called OC Tykes. She sells and rents all sorts of baby gear and when we walked in, she had 15 or so strollers on display. She was really amazing...showing us features and benefits of each. Asking us what we would use it for. Letting us put the girls in the strollers to push them around. And even with this crappy weather we are having...told us we could even go up and down the street. It was WAY too cold outside for me to take her up on that.

Before I continue, I must say a big thanks to those of you who offered up some advice. I'm not gonna lie, I was heading towards the Gr*co before I started researching. But by the time we headed out the door today, I was sold on the Phil and T*ds. Unfortunately, when we test drove that one, Brian's knees hit the jumpseat. I was actually really bummed because I liked the compact-ness (if that's a word) of it.

We also gave the Up*a Baby a spin, but Abby practically hit her head on the seat in front of her, so we ruled that out. And yes...even though I was convinced I didn't want a double-wide, I gave the B*B Revolution a spin too. And yes...ya'll were right. It IS a great stroller. But even after driving it, I just wasn't sold on it...for several reasons, actually.

So what did we end up with?

Well...you can check out our new stroller here. It's a brand new 2010 model. I think we are really going to love it. It's versatility is amazing, and if we are ever out with only one of the kids, it converts to a single stroller as well (that was one of the features I loved about the P&T).

So...if it ever stops raining here in not-so-sunny SoCal, we will get to take it out for a spin. And I can't wait!

One week home

W.O.W. It's been a loooooong week. One I wouldn't change for anything in the world, but long nonetheless. Sleepless nights. No time for naps. Ugh. It's kind of funny though. When Abby and I used to be home alone together, I swear I could go days without getting us out of our pjs (I didn't, but I could have), but with 2 home and as exhausted as I am, I want to be up and out of the house all the time. Seriously, we've been on the go everyday...almost.

The other day we took our first trip to Huntington Gardens. Abigail had a blast running all around and got soaked in a fountain at the Children's Garden. Then she enjoyed the Shakespeare Garden as well.

Yesterday we went to my sister's house to watch the Charger game. Lilly met her cousins for the first time, and Abby ate with the big kids.

Today we had to take Lilly to the eye doctor for that yucky ROP exam that we always hated with Abby. After trading birth/NICU stories with a Mom of a 28-weeker in the waiting room for over an hour, we were called back. Aside from crying louder that I have ever heard her cry (and shedding a tear or two myself) Lilly did great and doesn't have to go back for 3 weeks. She has been sleeping ever since, with blurry, dilated, goopy eyes.

And as she slept, Abby had spaghetti for dinner.

I know we did more than that last week, but the rest seems to be a blur.

On deck for Tuesday...double stroller shopping. I think I prefer the front/back style instead of the side-by-side kind, but I still have to test drive them.

Suggestions anyone?

Oh, and my little girls? I thought they looked alike.

Now I'm not so sure.

Lilly's 5th full day home

And I am exhausted. Updates and pictures (if I ever get around to taking some) are coming soon.
