I Heart eBay

I go in little spurts with eBay, where I will sell a bunch of stuff, and then not sell anything for a while. But a few weekends ago we had a garage sale. We didn't do too badly. Most of what we didn't sell, we donated. But there were a couple of things that I decided to list on eBay instead, because let's be honest, who couldn't use a little extra cash these days. I listed 6 items, all of which sold, and now I have some extra spending money for a wedding we are attending in Vegas!

Here's what I sold:

A broken-in-but-never-used-in-a-game baseball glove: $83
A lot of 10 of Brian's old t-shirts: $20
Another lot of 10 of Brian's old t-shirts: $14.50
Abby's Winnie the Pooh costume from last Halloween: .99 cents
An old Halloween costume I wore about 11 years ago: $25
An old pair of Brian's golf shoes: $20

I'd say $160+ this week isn't too shabby for the few minutes it took to list them!

Out of the blue

Remember when I was pregnant with Abigail and Madison? I had just started this blog. I had just had surgery, at 18 weeks pregnant, to save my babies. We agreed to have this sugery filmed, not knowing that it would be our only chance to see one of our babies alive. And to this day, I have been unable to get my hands on that footage of the surgery.

I had sort of let it go. In part because I am too busy, and in part because I am not sure that I really want to see it. I mean after all, except for the footprints and ashes and the memory of holding our lifeless baby in our arms when she was born, it is all we have of Madison.

Until now.

I have just recently found out that there is a movie...and seriously, when I say movie I mean a motion picture...set to be released in the Spring 2011, that uses footage of the surgery performed on myself and 3 other women that day back in 2008.

I am not sure whether or not the filming of my actual surgery is in the movie (I probably won't know until I actually see the movie), But the thought that it could be, after 2 years of not thinking about it at all...is haunting me. I know I signed off on it. But when I signed off on having the surgery filmed, I never in a million years thought it would be the only chance I would ever have of seeing Madison alive.

It is a blessing and a curse all at the same time and at this point I am overwhelmed with emotion and grief.

A sadness I didn't really know I had in me until it surfaced this week...

and I'm just not sure how to handle it.

Seriously...

where does the time go? So much for being a regular again here in the blogging world. So where did I leave off? Oh yes...the WBC...well baby checkup. As expected, the girls are doing fine, although it seems both of them are sick, much in part, I think, because we went to the doctor. I swear we get sick every time we go there. And yes, they do have a well baby waiting room.

It doesn't seem to matter.

Anyhow, Abby's height is 35.5 inches and she weighs 32 pounds. Lilly was 27.5 inches tall and was 21 pounds. There is definitely no shortage of baby fat 'round here. Oh, and we got the go ahead for yogurt, egg yolks, and stage 3 baby food.

Let's see, what else?

Oh, last weekend we spent an afternoon poolside at the Hyatt. Abby has gotten really comfortable in the water and spent most of the time just floating.

Lilly tried pineapple for the first time and L-O-V-E-D it.

When she was done, she took a little snoozer on Uncle Jeff. I don't know what's up with this, but he is seriously a 'Lilly whisperer'. She falls asleep every time he holds her. It's awesome.

And this past Saturday evening, after watching a heartbreaker of a football game Abby really put the slop in sloppy joes. You should have seen the bath water that night! It was orange!

There is so much more going on and I don't even know how to manage my time to handle it all, let alone post about it all. But maybe one of these days I'll get caught up.

Oh, and did I mention?

Lilly is crawling now.

Well Visits Today

Today is a big day. Both girls have well visits at the pediatricians office. It's only been 2 months for Lilly, which isn't that long but for Abby, it's been 6 months! I can tell just by looking at them (and of course, carrying them around), that they are well above average in height and weight, but I seriously can't wait to hear exactly how above average my little over-achievers are.

The Big Apple

So I didn't get to post while I was in NYC...mainly because our hotel's internet service was down the majority of the time I was there. It was a pretty quiet 3 days. Other than missing my family tons, I spent most of the time just wandering around. I decided to take the train to check out the Museum of Natural History but I managed to take the subway the wrong way and ended up in the Bronx...that was fun. And by the time I figured out how to get back to where I started, the day was pretty much over so I never did make it to the museum. The highlight of the trip was most definitely taking the train out to CT to have dinner with my Uncle and cousins. We hadn't seen them in 6 years so it was fun to catch up. We got back late Friday and I spent the weekend with Brian and the girls and now that it's Tuesday, I'm trying to get back in the work groove. I need to get some more wine tastings booked for September. I need to pay bills. I need to return some phone calls. I can think of a million things I need to be doing...and sadly blogging isn't on the need to do list.

Ugh.
